As a new blogger, I still get incredibly excited whenever I see a notification pop up to say that someone has ‘Liked’ my post, or that someone new is following my blog.
Part of the reason I started writing this blog is because I love reading blogs. So every time a new name shows up, the first thing I do is head to their blog to take a look. My interests are fairly broad, so as much as I love food and fitness blogs, I also like checking out blogs which cover topics such as photography, travel, knitting, beauty, fashion and music.
What am I not interested in, is blogs which advertise ways to supposedly make money from blogging. I’ve never taken the time to read one of these blogs thoroughly, but I assume that they require you to pay them an amount of money upfront and they will then ‘reveal their trade secrets.’
What frustrates me most, is that these people clearly go around just clicking ‘like’ on thousands of posts a day, for no other reason than to boost their own blog views.
I click ‘like’ on posts for many reasons – usually it’s because I can relate to the content but it could be because it made me laugh, was well written, included a fabulous recipe or beautiful photos. But whatever the reason, it’s always a genuine action. A pat on the back from me to the writer, to say – I enjoyed what you did there! Never just a way to try and direct more views to my own personal blog.
It’s sad but it’s true, some people are only here for their personal gain.
Rant over, it’s time for tenthirtyses – a slice of the Banana (and Chocolate Chip) Bread I made last night. No, it’s not really bread – it’s most definitely cake. And yes, I do have a baking addiction right now!
P.S. Who’s actually ever eaten Spam??
